The formula

For a ratio W:H and diagonal D: width = D × W / √(W² + H²), height = D × H / √(W² + H²). For 16:9, √(16² + 9²) = √337 ≈ 18.36, so width ≈ 0.8716 × D and height ≈ 0.4903 × D.
